Wilson Artwork by Andrew BosleyWhy Our Fat Brain Experts Like It:”Everdell had us at the art but drew us in with the gameplay. It is easy to learn, yet offers satisfying strategic depth and endless replayability (that’s board game talk for ‘it never gets old’). This is achieved through simple setup variations. The game also has a steady build that eases new players into each iteration and then grabs hold of you to propel you through the end of the game. Thematically, Everdell begins in winter and then progresses through each season, concluding in the fall. As a result, you always know exactly where you are in the game and how long it is likely to take. The object is simple: accumulate a total of fifteen constructions (places) and/or critters (inhabitants) to fill your city. Balancing these tasks with the completion of special events that earn you additional points. At the end of fall, the player with the most Victor Points (VP) wins!”
